| Winter Reading, Saturday, 12/5/09Featured Josh Bazell and Ellen Sussman
 Josh Bazell, the author of the best-selling novel Beat the Reaper, holds a BA in English literature and writing and an MD from Columbia. He wrote Beat the Reaper while completing his internship at a hospital not at all like the one described in his book. Ellen Sussman's Dirty Words: A Literary Encyclopedia of Sex was published in 2008 and her anthology, Bad Girls: 26 Writers Misbehave, a collection of literary essays, became a New York Times Editor's Choice and a San Francisco Chronicle Best Seller. Featured Literary Publication Carol Edgarian, on behalf of Narrative Magazine, presented Katayoon Zandvakili, who read from her new novel, In the Lap of the Gods: My 8-&-A-Half-Month Marriage to an Impostor.
Emerging Writers Sonja Velez and Zach Wyner both read from their work.
